The senior team suffered their first league defeat in a lacklustre game played in Tourlestrane on Saturday last. Missing a number of regulars the team never gelled and went down to defeat on a score of Eastern Harps 0-12         Tourlestrane 0-6.

The senior hurlers went down by the narrowest of margins to Calry in the county final played in Tubbercurry on Sunday last. The final score was Calry 2-6 Tourlestrane 0-11. A large number of supporters travelled to the game played in ideal conditions. The team has done much hard work this year, with a place in the final a fitting reward. Manager Martin Brennan and assistant Dermot Walsh are to be complimented for their dedication to the team and hurling in the county. Some of this team had played a football league game just 24 hours beforehand. We look forward to seeing this team again in the near future.

On Saturday June 16,2001 the under 16 team faced Calry/St. Joseph’s in the “A” league final in Sligo IT. Forced to line out at less than full strength, the team battled hard, leaving nothing between the sides with 7 minutes to go. The concession of 2 goals very late in the game was the difference between the team at the final whistle. Final score Calry 2-9 Tourlestrane 0-9. Training continues for the team with the Championship due to be played on Friday June 29th. This date will probably, change as the county Under 16 team are also scheduled to play the Webb Cup on that same evening

Good Luck to the Sligo team who face Carlow in the All Ireland Series on Saturday next in Fr. Cullen Park.
